|Summary||0004327: Please consider implementing a "lock" for various settings in the VR module|
When working with multiple volumes, switching from one volume to the next in the VR causes VP, rendering quality and other parameters to be recreated with default settings. When reviewing multiple datasets with very similar intensities, this becomes annoying and tedious. Perhaps a little lock option (like in markups) can be implemented such that, when switching from one volume to the text those settings does not revert to default (and keep adding new nodes).

I did a major overhaul of the volume rendering settings in terms of adding the real multi-volume rendering option, see https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/pull/966. In the new implementation, the volume rendering quality settings are stored in the view node, and not the volume rendering display node, so if you show a new volume, then it will inherit the same settings that were set in the previously shown one. I also added volume rendering options in Application Settings, so you can change the defaults that are applied when you start Slicer the next time. These changes will be available in tomorrow's nightly version.
Let us know if this solves your problem, or there are other things you're missing. Thanks!
